Awesome Artists or Bands I Love - - Aimee Mann

From 31 Today - - "I thought my life would be different somehow, thought my life would be better by now"
First hearing her on a mix my brother made me, she was intermixed with Tori Amos, well, with all due respect to Tori, there is no comparison. I'm almost ashamed to have ever thought that, but hey, I was in middle school, what did I know? From Looking for Nothing - - "I got high on a ferris wheel" I've quoted those words so often. I love having an alto artist to look up to, I can sing along to her her lyrics without straining my voice, even when she does go high. I highly recommend listening to her.

Transferring

I always heard being the new kid is difficult, but it's been surprisingly easy. People are generally nice. The classes are fun, and I find myself not being afraid to get 'lost in the shuffle'. I like being at a school with a few hundred in a grade rather than one of 40. So here I am, 2 weeks into my Sophomore year, loving it.

Toads

Yesterday I got picked for the amazing task of mowing the lawn in our back yard (WAY back). The grass was about a foot high so I had to mow very slow. The first critter I see? A snake! UGH! I instinctively veer off to mow it over, I don't know if I got it but I sure as heck tried. Then low and behold, a frog! It hopped away to safety quickly (probably having seen the snake episode). Safe this time froggy... but you just wait. Then towards the end I see a toad!
I love toads, something about them hits my soft spot. Hopping away slowing. Hop........ ribbit..... hop hop.... rest..... yeah gotta love em. So I go out of my way to not hit him. I feel so sorry for him where ever I go there he is! Evidently he thought the tall grass would be safer; fat chance since I was mowing! After many near hits he decides to book it to the cedars and our sweet clover (smart toad). Smiling like an idiot for the toads safety I continue mowing, almost hitting a frog and then encountering two more toads. One was bigger than my fist and I really had to fight the urge not to stop the mower. Ahhh... my adventures.

The Worst of Jokes Get the Best of Laughs

Now for the worst jokes of all time- -

Q.What's brown and sticky?
    A.A stick.

Terrible right? When your friends are saying their long drawled out build up of a joke squeeze this one in, instant classic.

Q.What did Batman say to Robin before they got in the car?
    A."Robin, get in the car."

Once again terrible. My brother actually texted this into the local radio station and they thought it was hilarious, and since it was a text to a landline it was that robotic monotone voice. They played it on air for awhile, they couldn't get enough of it I guess!

Next time when someone is telling a joke in the form of a question instead of answering "I don't know" say, " I would be more comfortable if you didn't ask me that question". Great joke in itself.

LEAVE BRITNEY ALONE!

Okay, not really, I mean... I'm not heartless; to some extent, those famed youtube words are true. Who cares if Ke$ha writes the sluttiest songs imaginable? People will still jam to it.
Who cares if Lady Gaga dances and dresses like a whore? There is still the people who will obsess over her music not her image. Who cares what Tiger Woods does in bed with other women? He's still an amazing golfer. Who cares if almost the entire Twilight cast are amateurs? Wait, yeah, that's something to care about, because that's what they should be known for, they are actors. Not models known for looks. I don't care what a celebrity does, just so long as they are good at what made them a celebrity.

Blogging - A whole new world?

So I love writing right? I figured a blog would help me express that... but how do you go about starting, what do you blog about? Apparently I am just expected to know. The blogosphere is the new frontier, and here I am, boldly going where no man or woman (in my 10 mile radius) has ever gone before. Scary, it's a boring world out there.
